POINT EINBOCK IS BACK!

Point Einbock, a hand-crafted seasonal specialty beer from the Stevens Point Brewery, is available now wherever Point brands are sold.

Point Einbock, an authentic maibock-style lager beer, will be sold through the spring in six-packs, twelve-packs, (NEW FOR ‘09) and on tap.

There are many stories as to how bock beers were named.  Some assert the origins date back to the North German town of Einbeck.  Others maintain that “bock,” the German word for “goat,” relates to the “kick” of some bock beers.   In that tradition, Einbock’s bold, colorful packaging features a mountain goat in an alpine setting.

“We have brewed other great bocks in past years, but we believe Point Einbock is our best bock beer yet,” said Joe Martino, Stevens Point Brewery Operating Partner, noting that the German translation of Einbock is “one bock.”  “We think Point Einbock is one bock that thirsty beer lovers are sure to enjoy this spring.”

Einbock is hand-crafted using the finest Munich and Vienna specialty malts and a blend of Bavarian Hallertauer hops.  Acccording to Stevens Point Brewmaster John Zappa, maibock beers were originally brewed in Germany for May Day celebrations.
